About Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Nature Center
Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Sanctuary is a nature center and a National Natural Landmark, home to one of North America's northernmost stands of bald cypress trees. Visitors can explore a quarter-mile boardwalk trail to experience the cypress trees and swamp, engage in nature study and birdwatching, and view interpretive exhibits on local wildlife and cultural history. The sanctuary, acquired by The Nature Conservancy in 1957, offers opportunities to observe abundant wetland life and includes picnic areas.
