About Hays House
The Hays House Museum is a small, Georgian-style home built in 1788, making it the oldest home in Bel Air, Maryland. Operated by the Historical Society of Harford County, it was purchased by Thomas Hays in 1811 and remained in his family for 146 years. As a living history site, it illustrates the social and cultural aspects of daily life of rural gentry. Visitors can take guided tours and see themed exhibits of vintage and antique clothing and textiles.
