About Edmund Fowle House
Built in 1772, the Edmund Fowle House is Watertown's second oldest surviving house. It served as headquarters for the Massachusetts government during the American Revolution, where the Treaty of Watertown was signed in 1776. This treaty was the first signed between the new United States and a foreign power. Today, the house is home to the Historical Society of Watertown, where visitors can learn about its history and view the society's collection of artifacts.
