About Melvin Memorial
The Melvin Memorial, known as Mourning Victory, stands in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery as a tribute to the Melvin brothers. Extensively restored beginning in 2018, the marble memorial was rededicated in June 2019, 110 years after its original dedication, with many Melvin family members in attendance. The restored monument features slate tablets with bronze lettering preserving this historic treasure for future generations.
