About Jeanerette Bicentennial Museum
The Jeanerette Bicentennial Park and Museum offers a sampling of life along the winding banks of Bayou Teche. Housed in a 1902 building made from cypress wood, the museum explores the sugarcane and cypress lumber industries, as well as the days of the steamboat. Visitors can see a pictorial history of sugarcane, antique cypress patterns, an 1879 sewing collection, a Victorian bedroom, and a Swamp Room with over 40 native species. Local exhibits and history are also on display.
