Sanders Cafe and Museum in Corbin, Kentucky, is recognized as the birthplace of KFC’s Original Recipe. Colonel Harland Sanders perfected his secret blend of 11 herbs and spices here over 75 years ago. The site, originally a 1937 gas station, expanded to include a motel and café. Today, the museum features the original Sanders Café dining room, a model of the Colonel’s original kitchen, and a replica hotel room. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
