About Seth Hays Home
The Seth Hays Home was built in 1867 by Seth M. Hays, Council Grove's first settler. It was occupied by Hays, his adopted daughter Kittie, and his former slave Sarah "Aunt Sally" Taylor. This preserved trail home is now a museum operated by the Morris County Historical Society and features an historical marker on its property. It is designated on the National Register of Historic Places.
