About Gary Land Company Building
The Gary Land Company Building, constructed in 1906, served as the first building in Gary and functioned as the city's hall, post office, school, and business building. The 1½-story historic structure with a cross-gable roof was converted to a residence in 1909 and moved to its present location in 1956. It now operates as a historical museum and visitor's bureau.
