About William L.Gregg House Museum
The William L. Gregg House Museum was originally the home of William L. Gregg, who founded the Excelsior Press Brick Manufacturing Company in 1871. Gregg invented and patented a triple pressure brick machine and other equipment for the brick industry. The house, built with the company's first bricks, was saved by the Westmont Area Historical Society in 1976 and opened as a museum in 1981. It offers educational programs for elementary school children and scout groups on local history and various historical topics.
