About Steamboat Museum
The DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center preserves the Steamboat Bertrand, which sank in what is now DeSoto Lake, along with nearly 250,000 artifacts from the historic vessel. The refuge also protects bottomland forests, tall grass prairie, and wetland habitats supporting diverse migratory bird populations.
