About Madrid Historical Museum
The Madrid Historical Museum preserves and shares the history of the Madrid, Iowa area. Visitors can explore a replica of the Ackerlund-Burke Coal Mine, located in the crawl space under the museum building. The museum also features an old City Jail where guests can take pictures, and a Bicentennial section with bound books on Madrid's history. A Genealogy File is available for those researching local individuals.
