About Talking Rock Schoolhouse Teaching Museum
The Talking Rock Schoolhouse Teaching Museum preserves a historic schoolhouse, originally Ludville High School built in 1877. It was moved to Talking Rock in 1882 and served as a school until the 1930s, then as a community center. Restored in 1998 and dedicated as a teaching museum in 2002, it offers visitors a glimpse into early life and education in the Appalachian foothills.
