About Torrington Historical Society
The Torrington Historical Society is located in three historic buildings in downtown Torrington, Connecticut. It is home to the Torrington History Museum, the Hotchkiss-Fyler House Museum, and the John H. Thompson Library & Archive. Visitors can tour exhibits, take guided tours of the Hotchkiss-Fyler House, use the research library, and visit the John Brown Birthplace site. The Society also owns the West Torrington site where noted abolitionist John Brown was born.
