About Neptune Museum
The Neptune Museum in Boulder, Colorado, displays one of the most extensive collections of mountaineering artifacts in the country. It features gear and photos dating back to 1901, including items from early climbing, skiing, and mountaineering expeditions. Visitors can see artifacts like boots from Hillary's Everest summit and pitons from the first Eiger ascent, alongside early belay devices and alloy carabiners. The museum also hosts lectures nearly every week.
