880 feet of Gulf beachfront with fishing pier, canoe/paddleboat/surf bike rentals, and a 2.5-mile nature trail on Grand Isle's west end. Elevated camping platforms (built post-Katrina) and tent camping on the beach. Grand Isle State Park is a major birding destination during spring migration — protected wetlands on the park's north side harbor spectacular concentrations of neotropical migrants in April–May.
